Our Experience Making Ovaltine Rice Krispie Treats

All through my childhood, my mom would make cookie plates to give away through the holiday season.   She would make 3 or 4 different kinds of cookies so all the plates had variety.   Each year she would try a new recipe and some years it would become a staple on the cookie plate, and sometimes it would disappear never to be made again.

  1. My favorite Christmas memory is spending christmas with my entire family, plus some inlaws. We spent it in western michigan by the lake. It was perfect.

  2. my favorite holiday memory is dad lifting me up high to put the star on the top of the Christmas tree!! It always made me feel so special! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. My holiday memory is driving to my Grandma’s on Christmas Eve after performing in our church’s Christmas service. My Grandma lived in another town, and we had to drive about 15 mins to get to her house. It was always so magical driving through the country under the stars, snow on the ground, seeing all the houses light up, and being all dressed up from church.

  4. Every year when I was growing up I’d get sick at Christmas time. After I’d moved out (as an adult) I discovered I am allergic to pine trees. My mom always insisted upon getting a “real” tree at Christmas. In retrospect, it’s funny that we never figured it out when I was growing up and always just accepted that I was ALWAYS sick during the holidays.

  5. One of my favorite holiday memories has always been staying up late with my grandma on new years eve, drinking hot chocolate and apple cider, waiting for the ball to drop and making homemade cinnamon rolls. The next morning we would get up and have a warmed up cinnamon roll with a cup of hot chocolate, and we would dip the cinnamon roll in the hot chocolate. Those were the days I wish I could relive and but now my husband and I share a new tradition of staying up to watch the fire works, and then dancing to our song since the 1st of the year is our anniversary. I love our new tradition just as much as the old one.

  6. One of my favorite memories is always the jammies we got as kids on Christmas eve and my kids and now my grand kids.
