Why is the nation captivated by the Casey Anthony trial? It is on every news outlet, Twitter, Facebook and online. Is it because it is of the alleged 2008 murder of a mother killing her two year old beautiful little girl or is it because of the wild tales this now 25 year old young mother told during her 31 days of freedom and the partying and care-free life she held. Casey Anthony originally told law enforcement, her parents and the world that her daughter was kidnapped by the nanny – named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. She gave very precise detail about “the nanny”, including her family, her appearance, the car she drove, what the inside of her apartment looked like and so much more. She took law enforcement to “the apartment”, also took them to her own place of employment at Universal Studios, that well, wasn’t…she did not work there. They had search teams out searching for the nanny all over the world. She maintained this story for 3 years. Her mother, Caylee’s grandmother, testified that she had been looking for this nanny up until 6 WEEKS ago, that is until the defense came to the family and told them the defense strategy was that they would claim Caylee’s death was an accidental drowning. They left out what else they would be claiming.   As a mother of three, I cannot imagine ever, EVER not reporting my child missing. If my toddler son is out of my view for a second, all these horrible things run through my head and I want to call in the armed forces to come help me find him. This brings up another point – would you testify against your child or would you lie on the stand in order to protect them? That is a tough one. That is what Cindy Anthony was faced with recently. There has been alot of speculation in the media and on Twitter/Facebook that she lied on the stand. One of the key pieces of evidence in the prosecutions case was the search history on the family’s computer. The state’s theory is that Casey subdued her daughter with chloroform then put duct tape over her mouth and nose. Chloroform was found in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car and the Google searches for chloroform found on the family computer seemed to be key in the  case against Casey. Then, in a jaw-dropping moment, Cindy Anthony, mom of Casey testified under oath, that it was she, not her daughter that did those searches. She said she was actually looking up chlorophyll in bamboo, to see if it was harmful to her dogs. Here is the kicker, her work records show she was in fact at work that day. She however, stated those work records were wrong and she was the one that made those searches. Here is the deal: if they can prove the chloroform searches were Casey Anthony then that shows premeditation, which will qualify for death penalty. Some speculation indicates, that is why Cindy testified she was the one that made those searches, because they have been very outspoken that they do not want their daughter to receive the ultimate fate – the death penalty. Now, fast forward a few days to the prosecutions rebuttal case. The prosecution team did some more research and have apparently discovered that Cindy Anthony was indeed at work that day and could  not have made the searches and was in fact lying on the stand. I hesitate to speculate, so we can only wait and see. This is a gut-wrenching emotional case and I feel deeply for the family of little Caylee Marie Anthony. She was a beautiful little girl and it kills me to even try and imagine what she went through at the hands of her mother, allegedly of course. I have my  opinions  and thoughts. Are you following the case? What do you think the verdict will be and should Casey Anthony receive the death penalty if convicted? 1. One thing they said today on the news was that there were no searches for chlorophyll. So, if that is the case- did the mom lie and can she or will she be charged with perjury?

    1. The website is not mine but is an excellent source of valuable information.

So my question is, where were child “protection” services when this child needed her? I can tell you where. They were undoubtedly busy destroying innocent families lives while this poor child lost hers. While incompetent and corrupt caseworkers destroy families to use children’s lives for currency in their quest to misappropriate billions of dollars of tax paid federal funds, tens of thousands of children just like this little girl suffer serious injuries just short of death while under child “protective” services supervision. Over 40 percent of the child abuse deaths in 1995 involved children previously known to the authorities. This poor little girl is gone but you can save others. Please watch Senator Nancy Schaefer’s report @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nkgezojsgo to realize the horrible truth about child “protective” services and get involved to save the children you still can (or you can type “CPS Corruption” into any browser to be flooded with the facts).

  2. I am somewhat in shock at the verdict that was handed down, but knowing how the law works ( sort of know) that it is “beyond a reasonable doubt” that needs to reached- that she would probably walk on the worse count. I did not think she would walk away scott free though. I have to say i am shocked that they only got her for lying to the cops.

I think the most damning evidence that they were able to protect her from was the computer search- mom stated she did the search, and drowning death- I am pretty sure the ladder was up on the day she went missing. I am not sure about you all, but i can not remember what was happening 3 years ago on a particular date let alone was the ladder in the pool.

I do feel that justice was not served, I am still amazed at Casey being found innocent on most of the charges- the most serious counts. But can see how the jury found what they were told- there was no definite proof. Yes, we will all know she did it. We all know that this young lady was the reason for this little girl to be dead. Sadly, this will be just like the OJ case. What exactly will be the “glove” in this case is not known just yet, but soon we will know. And one day, Casey Anthony will meet her maker. In the mean time, she will continue to pass bad checks, lie to the police and walk around as if she has every right to be out and free.

  3. Is this what our nation has. Ome to? There is a beautiful two year old dead in a dump double bagged like a sack of sharp items bought in a grocery store with duct tape wrapped around her face, nose, eyes and ears, but the heart shaped sticker over her mouth erases the devastation and heartbreaking details and now her own mother walks away to carry on life as she sees fit. The jury failed this little girl and failed us. To he’ll with the jury being insensitive to the life of a 24 year old when there’s a dead baby thrown out to rot at the hands of negligence.

  4. All the evidence points to Casey Anthony. Whatever her motivation or excuse, it is quite clear she (at minimum) had a hand in her daughter’s death. Even if she isn’t completely guilty of the crime, she should serve hard time for letting something so horrible happen to that little girl.

It is sad to know now that the jury only found her guilty on four counts of lying to the police, and nothing more. Whether they have a new suspect in mind, or just too much reasonable doubt to convict Casey, we won’t know till further investigation is made.

  5. Dear Amber,

I like your observations and questions and can hardly wait to see what you have to say about the acquittal.

  6. Kathy,
I completely agree. I have been tuned into this very sad case since the beginning. Thank you for responding. I am open to hearing everyone’s thoughts on this case.
As of now, the jury has the case and Casey Anthony’s fate is in their hands.

  7. Casey Anthony killed her little girl and it makes me angry every time I think about her defense (father molested her) I’ve known women that have been molested as girls and they don’t kill their kids. As for her other defense (baby drowned in pool) I have yet to see a mother who would rather dump their child in the woods then have a protective services agency investigate them UNTHINKABLE !! I think it would serve her better to get life in prison so she can think about what she did for the next 70 years or so. I would be crying my eyes out if my child died…even 3 years later. I can’t blame her mother Cindy..I don’t know what I would do if I was in her shoes but we all know that as mothers we would do anything for our children …maybe even try to take their place if they did get the death penalty.
