These five tips are sure to help
moms get fit. For busy moms, not having
time to exercise is more than an excuse, it’s a reality. It takes some serious dedication, flexibility, and multi-tasking to get fit and raise a family. But, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. A healthy mom is one of the best gifts you can give your family. I am currently trying to make exercise a priority so I thought I’d share a few ideas that have worked for me.
Top Tips for Finding Time to Get Fit
Become an early riser. This is extremely challenging, but also very rewarding. If you can set your alarm and squeeze in a workout before the kids awake you will feel better all day.
Worked harder not longer. Brief yet strenuous exercise burns some serious calories without taking too much time. Even a twenty minute fitness video can provide your with a great workout. There are some great streaming exercise videos you can squeeze in during nap time.
Involve your kids. Feed off of some of that amazing kid energy and spend quality time, all while getting in shape. Play a full out game of tag or take a bike ride. Have you ever really played on the playground? Those monkey bars and climbers are no joke!
Hit the gym. Many gyms have quality childcare at little or no additional cost. You can get a little me time and a great workout. I find the classes at my local YMCA extremely fun and motivating.
Get Social. Stroller walks (or jogs) with friends are a great way to catch up and burn calories. Plus, your little one will get some wonderful fresh air.
Sneak it in throughout the day. Always take the stairs, park far away, do squats while you brush your teeth. These little extra steps add up to a whole lot more.
I hope these ideas motivate you to give fitness a shot. You deserve to be fit and your kid’s deserve a healthy, happy mom.
