My son loves all things spooky, weird, and creepy.
Of course, Halloween is his favorite time of year so we always have fun with this holiday.
We stumbled upon some cool Halloween-themed ice cube trays and Nicholas asked me to get them so we could do some kind of neat Halloween project with them. He didn’t have a plan for them but he knew we would come up with something…and we did!
We decided to make some Spooky Jello Jigglers with just the basic Jigglers recipe from the box.
What You Need:
1 cup boiling water (Do not add cold water.)
1 pkg. (4-serving size each) JELL-O Gelatin, any flavor
STIR boiling water into dry gelatin mix in large bowl at least 3 min. until completely dissolved. Pour into molds sprayed lightly with cooking spray.
Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.
Remove Jigglers by inverting molds. These molds are silicone so they are flexible and easy to pop ice out of. However, I found that sometimes the detailed features of our jigglers would stick to the mold and therefore the jiggler would tear a little when it popped out. Despite some of the jigglers tearing a little, most of them came out fine.
I did learn that you can buy molds designed for Jello at the Kraft Jello website. They have lots of fun holiday themed molds available.
Our Jigglers came out really cool and the whole family really enjoyed chowing down on them. I only regret that I didn’t think to put some gummy worms in the molds before the Jello firmed up.
Skulls with worms inside. Ewww!
My son would have loved it!
