This popsicle stick observation deck is the perfect addition to your fairy garden. Your fairies will love keeping watch over their home.
This popsicle stick craft is easy for older kids to make on their own. Younger kids will need help with the stain, glue, and cutting popsicle sticks.
- Popsicle sticks
- Stain – we used classic grey
- Wood glue – waterproof if putting your project outdoors in weather
- Outdoor paint sealer
Line seven popsicle sticks up beside each other. Place two popsicle sticks in the opposite direction over the top and cut off the ends. Glue these two sticks down on top of the others.
Glue four popsicle sticks on right angles like the image below.
Grab another four popsicle sticks and glue them into a cross to keep the previously step from moving and breaking.
Cut the ends off popsicle sticks so they are about 1 inch long. Glue one popsicle stick across them to make a fence that will be glued to the top of the observation deck.
Make a ladder for your fairies and their friends to climb up so that they can look out over the garden.
Brush stain over your observation deck. We used a ‘classic grey’ stain so that it would match the wood box we use for our fairy garden. Set it aside to dry. Apply an outdoor sealer over the top, and again, let it dry before moving on.
Glue moss over your observation deck to give it a more natural look.
Now your popsicle stick observation deck is ready to put into your fairy garden.
