All kids love hamburgers and tater tots right?
Just combine the hamburger, tater tots and a little seasoning and you have one of the easiest and yummiest recipes — the Tatertot Casserole!
It’s that simple!
This is one of those recipes that is perfect for a night you are running around trying to get homework done or getting your kids to practice. It doesn’t take much planning or prep work.
And it only has 5 ingredients!
Tater Tot Casserole
- 1 1/2 pounds Ground Beef
- 1/2 Onion, chopped
- 1 can Cream of Chicken Soup (large can)
- 1 package Tater Tots (32 oz)
- Salt & Pepper to taste
After you have sprayed your baking dish with non-stick spray, spread the hamburger meat on the bottom of the dish. I suggest crumbling the hamburger meat rather than layering in chunks. This way it’s easier to cook and eat. Add a pinch of salt & pepper to the top of the meat for flavor.
It’s also best to use a glass baking dish so you are able to see when the hamburger meat is cooked.
Sprinkle the chopped onion on top of the ground beef.
Then spread the Cream of Chicken soup on top. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
Finally, line the top of the casserole with the tater tots! This gives you a crunchy layer that is part of every bite!
Bake for 1 hour and serve.
You can also add a variety of frozen mixed veggies like peas and carrots to the casserole. Add the veggies between the onions and soup.
It’s a fun recipe your family will love!
