My 3 year old regularly consumed his yogurt smoothie with no issues whatsover. In fact, he made them with me on a somewhat daily basis. I added the Greek yogurt, he added the  fresh or frozen fruit. Maybe we ™d throw in some milk, peanut butter or flax seeds. He ™d press start, then blend and watch it whirl away into a frothy, fruity and protein rich breakfast. Fast forward a few month. Now, I have a 3-year old refusing his one beloved Greek yogurt and fruit smoothies. Pretty typical, actually. I tried different ways to create his once favorite smoothie: different yogurt, different fruits, even tried calling it a shake vs. a smoothie. Nope, not interested. Enter Hershey's chocolate syrup. A shot (we're talking 1 Tablespoon here-not a 1/4 of a cup!)  of this into the blender and like magic, his tastebuds recognized his long lost friend. Chocolate? Yes, chocolate. I much prefer that he chug down vitamins, minerals, fiber and protein in his smoothies than not. And, if it takes a bit of chocolate to help enhance the flavor, then so be it!
Welcome back, fruit and yogurt smoothie. We missed you!
