Spot It! {Family Games}: Matching Game for the Whole Family

Spot it! is a fun game that is simple but unbelievably addictive. It is one of our favorite family games because we all enjoy it – adults down to 4 years old. Kids Activities Blog hopes you will check out this fun matching game for the whole family.

Spot it!

Spot It! is a unique card game in which you try to find the matching pictures between two cards that each have a jumble of pictures on them. The trick is that out of the 55 cards in the deck, there is only one symbol that will match between any two cards. It seems so simple yet it can actually be tricky and our kids often beat us at it even when we are trying our best to win. The instructions list different variations on how to play. We play with a dealer who puts down two cards face up in the center of the table. As soon as the cards are down everyone quickly looks at both cards and then the first person to find the match wins that round. Sometimes we keep score of how many wins each person has but usually we have so much fun going through the deck that we really don’t care about who wins. Matching Game

Did you find the match? The purple spider web is on both cards so that is the match. It doesn’t seem that challenging as I explain it but it is fast paced and fun. We usually go through the deck once or twice in our version of the game and it takes about 10-15 minutes. The game states that it is for 2-8 players at ages 7 and up. However, our 4 year old can play us under the table. There are even different versions of Spot it! to appeal to anyone in the family. In addition to the original Spot it!, there are also sports themed cards like NHL and MLB, On the Road with various sights you might see on a family road trip, and even Spot it Jr! Animals for younger kids.
