- As of 2023, the current population is 1,426,574,996. It is 16.72 of the world’s population.
- The Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in the world and the third largest overall after Antarctica and the Arctic.
- North Africa is an economically prosperous area and generates one-third of Africa’s total GDP.
- Kinshasa, the capital Democratic Republic of the Congo, is the largest city in Africa, with an area of 3,848 mi².

- Lake Victoria, also called Victoria Nyanza, is the largest lake in Africa and the world’s second-largest water lake after Lake Superior in North America.
