I have been tasked with the grueling chore of designing a weekend getaway from Dallas using Membership Rewards points.
I know! I know!
It is pure torture!
I live 20 minutes from DFW airport and would like to come up with something fun, fabulous and a bit off the beaten path.

Louisianna! Enjoy some gumbo and good music
Quebec City! Such a charming place, and will be a nice change from the Texas heat.
What about coming to Canada, Niagara-on-the-lake is a beautiful area, and you can visit the falls while you are there!

I would say Texas has a lot to offer so no need to go far, very near by there are all kinds of places to go horse riding. But if your more the hotel and indoors type I say hop across the border North or East and go check out a casino.
I’ve had far too much fun with this, by the way. I think you should drive about 2.5 hours to Graham, TX and check out Wildcatter Ranch. It looks like a really gorgeous resort in the north Texas hills that is nothing but pure relaxation. Horseback riding, ATV rides and lazy time on the water. Sounds pretty much perfect to me!
You should go to San Diego so you can eat at Phils BBQ and go to the beach! (We watch a lot of TV about restaurants in other places)
Take a short trip to Granbury! It’s less then 2 hours from Dallas and just 30 minutes south west of Fort Worth.
You can shop around the Historical Square or Dine at “The Merry Heart Tearoom” or “Stringfellows” Go Antiquing, Take a cruise on the Riverboat or rent jet skies for some fun on the lake or go see a live play at the historical Opera House. If you will be staying overnight, you can stay at one of the many historical Bed and Breakfasts in town. You can also go over to Glenn Rose and see the Fossil Ridge Wildlife Park.
The Aquarium is always a fun day activity too. Who doesn’t love the Shark tunnel? 🙂

Definitely Kentucky. The home of Churchill Downs, Keeneland, Kentucky Bourbon and Ruth Hunt Candy company. Spend a weekend touring anyone of our beautiful horse farms or place your bets on a race at Keeneland, take a side trip to Berea and explore the beauty and handiwork of our local artists from quilts to baskets to blown glass. Too hot to do all that? Explore one of the many lake areas that are part of the Daniel Boone National Forest, from Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge , Somerset Lake or Cave Run. The one thing I know you will find here is hospitality, smiling faces and the urge to come back and see more.
