What Every Mom Needs
Like most moms, I used to have these negative thoughts all the time! But, what if there was a way to cure these “poo-poo” thoughts? Did you know that experts say, 80-90% of our thoughts are negative! Might sound crazy, but studies show that harping on negative events affects your mental and physical health. If you’re wondering how you can stay happy and healthy then listen closely.
The Power of Daily Affirmations that Fit a Mom’s Needs
One of the biggest game changers is: Affirmations: Definition- emotional support or encouragement. Daily Affirmations. Constant Affirmations. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t always get it from the people surrounding me.How Do I Make Affirmations Work for Me?
Do you have anyone following you around the house saying, “Hey mama you’re awesome!” Odds are the answer is no. Once I realized no one was refilling my affirmation tank upon demand, I understood that I had to look within to really make a change. I know many coaches will tell you to write it down, but how often do you really get “alone time.” My current attempt to find alone time is to escape to the bathroom, but my kid (like most) didn’t get the memo. I’m convinced she planted a tracking device on me. Just kidding!
What if You Struggle with Writing Affirmations?
Anyway, back to the story; I really wasn’t good at writing affirmations down every day and I knew I needed to make a change, but when it came down to it, it was the last thing on my list. This was now, yet another thing to beat myself up about in the journey of motherhood. That’s when I decided to create “The Love Deck.” These are actual cards that have affirmations already written for you. Yesssss! This way I can pick a few cards each day to affirm myself and set my intentions. This was a game changer for me. Each morning I put at least 1 on my desk as a constant reminder of my intention or the polar opposite of whatever negative thought was lurking when I woke up. Ie. I AM ENOUGH…and so are you, mama!
Affirmations Have Changed my Life!
I often know when I become super negative, that the main reason is because I haven’t taken a moment to very simply…pull a card from the Love Deck. Now here is the magic sauce, on the back of each card is a conversation starter. These are perfect for one of those moments like when you’re on a date and run out of things to say. Perhaps it’s for that moment before you leave to go on a date and you get this lingering fear of being judged. Sometimes, beginning a new relationship can get mundane in conversation. This is a fun way to get to know someone special or even find out if they aren’t that special after all…oops, yea I said it! Dating can be tough, especially if you have been hurt before. If you feel unsure if you are able to choose the right one or feel like your picker is broken, then “The Love Deck” is an easy way to bring up real questions in a fun way. Conversations such as: If you gave money to charity, which one would you choose and why? The Love Deck is the perfect combination of affirmation and conversation. As you take the time each day to affirm you and the beautiful woman you are, the flip side will help you in choosing the right one to share your life with.
