CryBaby Matinee showing of the “Babies” movie at the Angelika Film Center here in Dallas. We went with our whole Square One mom’s group, so Little Sir got to see some of his friends he hadn’t seen in a while! (here he is with his friend Henry)
A CryBaby matinee is a daytime showing of a film where it is OK for moms to bring their babies and let them talk, play, and even cry during the film. I think there must have been 50 or more moms there including our group, with babies of various ages – from a few days or weeks old, up to small toddlers. The area in front of the seats was full of empty strollers. The theater even put a changing table up in the middle front area so you could change your baby without missing any of the film!

“Babies” was a great film for a crybaby matinee because there is no dialogue or narration, Â just film of 4 babies’ first year of life in various locations on the earth. I thought the visual aspects of the film were amazing. Little Sir enjoyed it too and was enraptured at first:
Then, the bright lights lulled him to sleep:
He later woke up and had a bottle, by then the film was ending!
I would say that his first film was a great success!
Yesterday Little Sir and I were excited to be able to attend a Welcome to Kids Activities!
My name is Holly Homer & I am the Dallas mom of three boys…
