On Saturday,
June Cleaver died.
Barbara Billingsley who played the iconic role of June Cleaver on
Leave it to Beaver passed away.
Leave it to Beaver originally ran from 1957 to 1963. ย It was 239 episodes of ideal family life. ย Although it was a TV story not realistically achievable in real life, I love the sweet interactions depicted between parents and boys. ย I can’t imagine that I haven’t seen every episode several times over years and years of re-runs. ย It is still something I will sit down and watch.
Oh, and it is much funnier to me now that I have three boys.
I love how Barbara played June Cleaver with a gentle, unflappable spirit even in the midst of off-spring chaos..
.and Eddie Haskell.
She always seemed
in the know and
in on the joke.
I love
this quote from her responding to a question about the Cleaver family:
“I just wish that we could have more families like those. Family is so important, and I just don’t think we have enough people staying home with their babies and their children.”
Good bye June.
Good post. I study something more challenging on completely different blogs everyday. It would all the time be stimulating to learn content from different writers and practice somewhat something from their store. I โขd choose to use some with the content on my weblog whether or not you don't mind. Natually I โขll offer you a link in your net blog. Thanks for sharing.
I was searching for a June Cleaver image on Google this morning for a blog post and your picture is in the mist of them. Seriously!
I am sorry for your loss.
At least we still have Carol Brady on Dancing with the Stars!
I hadn’t heard this until stopping in here today. ๐ How sad. It broke my heart when Donna Reed died and this hits pretty close to the heart, too.
this actually made me really really sad. I liked her
I thought about you when I heard this story.
She is the reason I perpetually fantasize about vacuuming while wearing pearls.
And just not everyone can do that for you.
