I am loving this homemade shaving cream recipe! I am always surprised at how many awesome things I can make at home. Make your own shaving cream works that work great and leaves your skin smooth and moisturized.
I have stopped using commercial shaving creams as they don’t mix well with my sensitive skin. Besides, with so many different ingredients, it’s impossible to know if the typical shaving cream contains harmful ingredients or not. But that’s not the case with my own recipe since it contains natural ingredients and my favorite essential oils. Related: Shaving cream crafts for kids Since I started making my own natural shaving cream, I have noticed that the painful razor burn is almost gone, my dry skin feels smoother, and I get a close shave. There’s a good reason why homemade shave cream has become so popular in the last couple of years. This recipe is very easy but it has turned into one of my favorite homemade beauty products. You can tweak it a bit to get different results; you can add a little bit of sweet almond oil, a capsule of vitamin e oil, some argan oil, or simply try different oils.
How to use homemade shaving cream
When you feel ready to use this shaving cream, normally at the end of your shower, simply put a small amount of your DIY shaving cream recipe over the place you want to shave, and carefully use your razor blade to remove unwanted hairs. Rinse with warm water, dry your skin off, and use your favorite body butter or body lotion to lock in moisture. Steps to make homemade shaving cream with essential oils
Step 1
Put all of your ingredients in a glass bowl. Heat a small pot of water on low heat and sit the bowl on top to act as a double boiler.Step 2
Melt all of the ingredients (except the essential oils) together and place in the freezer for about an hour to harden them up a bit.Step 3
Once the mixture is a more solid consistency, blend it with a hand mixer. Now it’s time for the secret ingredient, the essential oil of your choice. Now mix in the oils (remember that a few drops go a long way). I used one of my favorite scents Citrus Fresh. This citrus blend smells incredible. It is a blend of grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, orange and several others. It’s a really fantastic blend to use in the morning when you need a pick me up. Using it in a diffuser when you’re feeling down works wonders!Step 4
After you make your own homemade shaving cream, store it in an airtight container at room temperature until you want to use it.Homemade Shaving Cream
