If you give a TX mom a sunny spring day

If you give a Texas Mom a sunny spring day
she will ask you to find her a field of bluebonnets.

Bluebonnet Field

If you take her to a field of bluebonnets
she will definitely need her camera.

After she locates her camera
she may even want to make sure her children are in coordinating outfits.

Once her children are in coordinating outfits
she may ask you to help her pose them in the bluebonnets.

After her children are posed in the bluebonnets
she might notice that SECURITY has arrived.

Once SECURITY has arrived
she will probably mention how UN-Texan it is to chase mothers from fields of bluebonnets.

You might want to intervene before she gets carried away
and ask you for a lawyer.

So you will carry her away
to find another field of bluebonnets...

New bluebonnet field

because it is a sunny spring day.

Oh, we’ve fought that law before.

You and I need to go into growing a “bluebonnet patch” for family pictures.

Beats watching families take their lives into their own hands out by the airport.

LOVE the story, and that the orange Crocs still fit 🙂

  2. Happy Campers says:

My friends are such bad influences…I’m glad I missed that adventure…I can’t have a criminal record…

  3. That’s cute! You always make me laugh. How did you get the frames in your pictures? Is it a blog program or something? Do you run a PC or Mac? I’ve found several but they aren’t compatible with Mac.

  4. spinning in our own direction says:

  5. I can’t believe they chased you off! Not cool!

  6. Colleen - Mommy Always Wins says:

Really? Security kicked you off a FIELD?!?

Guess its true what they say about the arm of the law down there…

  7. Manic Mommy says:

Clearly, you were up to no good.

  10. rachel - a southern fairytale says:

Ha Ha!! 😉 It’s amazing how almost all the fields are no no’s now.
I’m tempted to go buy a bunch of bluebonnets from Home Depot and plant my own dang field 😉

    LOVE bluebonnet pics!

  11. Headless Mom says:

I think that this is one of your best posts ever. LOVE IT!

  12. Elaine A. says:

Busted! Ha ha ha! Hope you were able to find less secured pastures…

  13. Halftime Lessons says:

Do NOT let the man get you down.

    Keep it real, beauty seeker.

    Flower Power.

  14. Tina in CT says:

I bet Lady Bird would not be happy that moms and little kids are being chased out of all the bluebell fields.

  15. Tina in CT says:

Bluebonnets and not bluebells. Can you tell that I’m a CT Yankee?

  16. The Lucky Mrs. T says:

I never knew this was an issue. I figured the Republic was a little more lax than that. Is this a state law or what’s the deal – tell us more!

  17. LOL. There are a lot of things that Texas Moms can do to get security involved. Shocking that this is the first one I have read about here on June Cleaver Nirvana.

  18. Angie @ KEEP BELIEVING says:

I can’t get over that you have that much BOTANY this time of year.

  19. Jenn @ Juggling Life says:

What a time you would have in the Carlsbad Flower Fields. It is excellent for posing small children.

  20. You rebel, you…………..

  21. MoziEsmé says:

Gosh – you sound so much more reasonable than that pig with her pancake! What is with those dang security people? Here in Oregon I would have been hauling stuff off the beach on my sunny spring day (just like that cat and his cupcake), and no one would have batted an eyelash.

  22. Jenni Jiggety says:

Busted by the Fuzz in a field of Bluebonnets? Only you, Holly!

  23. Lisa@verybusymomwith4 says:

Oh LOL–I hope no one picked any!!! Well you aren’t writing this from jail, right–lol 😉

I know a couple good patches you can take pics.

What Texas mom doesn’t love blue bonnet pics 😉

  24. Stethoscopes and Stilettos says:

    Don’t mess with Texas!

There’s always another bluebonnet field, right across the highway…

  25. IndigoSunMoon says:

    Oh honey…you take beautiful pictures!

  26. Hahha! That is awesome. I love that you got photos of Security as well as photos of your kids. What a bonus, a story that started out all sugary sweet with a surprise ending! Thanks Security People!

  27. Threeundertwo says:

    Felony flower photography.

Good thing your son is destined to be a lawyer. You’re going to need him.

  28. I wonder what Top Secret projects could possibly be going down in the Blue Bonnet Field.

Sometimes cops have authority issues. Great pictures! And good for you to find another field.

  29. WeaselMomma says:

Screw the blue bonnets, Give The Weasel a cookie. Any time of year will do.

  30. I love the pictures, but why did they chase you off? Are they magic bluebonnets?

  31. You crack me up. Do you have any creativity to spare?

    I SO miss bluebonnets!

  32. On a limb with Claudia says:

    Applause. You do inspire.

You know, I’ve never SEEN a bluebonnet. Thanks for sharing them.

  33. the planet of janet says:

that’s TERRIBLE!! no, not the photos, which are beautiful, but they don’t let you hang out on a field of bluebonnets in texas???? THAT’s terrible.

  34. Oh Bluebonnets are lovely. The security should just guard the area while the kids and you are taking photos.

  35. i just posted about taking pictures in bluebonnets. actually my last three posts are about that. i was experiencing blog block and just ran with the bluebonnet thing. three times. i even drove my kids to a field just to take pictures so i could write about it. once you have a good idea you must run with it. people who aren’t from texas or who have never lived here have no idea about the bluebonnet picture phenomenon. i made sure to tell the world. three times! gah!
