My husband and I have made it a habit to make specific New Years Resolutions every single year. We like to break our goals into 4 categories.
1. Faith
2. Family
3. Fitness
4. Finance
This way we cover all of the areas that are important to us. Resolutions are hard to keep. But that is the only way we really get
better. I hope that you learned something from 2008 because isn’t that what life is all about? Learning from our triumphs and mistakes. Making the life changes that are necessary to grow and change into something better than we were before.
Here at burbmom.net, we want to encourage you to sit down and make some goals for 2009. And we want you to share them with us…so we can help you get there. We also want to reward you for your goal-setting! Yes, I said REWARD….

I’m going back to cash envelopes so I can really keep on track with my budget. Best of luck to me:)
For 2009 I am making 9 goals. They are, in no particular order:
1. Read through the Bible this year.
2. Pay off my credit card.
3. Take a dance class.
4. Try (at least) one new recipe each month.
5. Go on a road trip with my friends.
6. Read 9 books.
7. Make a living doing what I love – be it organizing, communications, traveling, writing, etc.
8. See my mom and brother.
9. Travel overseas.
So how are we coming along with our goals ladies?
I’ve upped my goal to get to gym class 5x per week until mid-February (nothing like sporting a bathing suit in Maui to motivate!). I’m proud of myself for sticking to this…it’s really, really hard to find 5 extra hours in the week to do this but I have. Luckily, my son loves the kids’ area, so he’s excited to go when Daddy isn’t home.
I’ve also cut out the soda. Only if we go out to eat somewhere, which I’ve also cut out! We were in a big habit of grabbing lunch on the go most days, which is silly, because we were usually on our way home anyway. I had 1 soda at Peter Piper Pizza on Tuesday and it was the first one I’ve had in a week. Feels good, you know?
I’d love to hear how others are doing with their progress!!
My number one goal is to read the entire Bible through the years. I have a printed plan and have pretty much stuck to it so far.The 2 days I missed, I caught up and hope not to miss anymore.
I guess losing the 15 lbs of pregnancy weight.
