I was looking for a way to get the kids out of the house for a few hours to keep us all from going stir crazy.
I decided that we would check out The Tubes located inside
Irving Bible Church. We don’t attend this church but The Tubes are open to the public and I have heard that it is a fun place for kids to play.
It is a giant indoor climbing playground but bigger than anything you would find at a McDonald’s playground.
She Is Dallas Info: The Tubes are located at Irving Bible Church, 2435 Kinwest Parkway, Irving, Texas 75063. The Tubes are for children in 52 inches tall and below. Best of all – it’s FREE! Open to the public 7 days a week from 8am – 10pm. They do close The Tubes on the last Wednesday of the month from 8-10:30am for cleaning. There are no designated staff in this area so parents must keep a close eye on their kiddos at all times. The Tubes are completely enclosed by glass walls but there is a door on each side which makes for quick escapes for toddlers wanting to wander.
There are benches to sit on inside The Tubes but there are also tables and couches just outside The Tubes as well as free WiFi. There is also a little cafe in case you get the munchies after burning off all of that energy from climbing.
My little one spent most of the time in the small toddler area inside The Tubes. It has big foam blocks to climb and slide on. There are big colorful barrels that spin around and a big tunnel to crawl through.
Once the kids got their fill of The Tubes we wandered around the lobby. There is a small children’s area next to The Tubes that was entertaining for a little while. The fish tank was neat to look at but the fish kept hiding – wouldn’t you if you had 8 kids looking at you through the glass?
There was even a fun house type mirror that all the kids had fun with.
We had a nice outing at a new place and met some nice people while we were there. I was surprised when I realized that we had been there for several hours. Time flies when you’re having fun!
Along with everything which seems to be building throughout this area, many of your viewpoints are fairly refreshing. On the other hand, I am sorry, but I can not give credence to your entire plan, all be it stimulating none the less. It looks to everyone that your comments are actually not entirely rationalized and in actuality you are yourself not really completely confident of the assertion. the tubes are great! that was my church before we moved. 🙁 it’s a fantastic pace to take the kiddos yes, you do have to keep a close eye on them with the two doors. they’re also the really heavy glass/steel doors and my son has pinched his fingers in them pretty badly, so be careful! 🙁 anyways, there’s tables just outside the glass walls so it’s great for lunch playdates! i think jamie is exaggerating on how dark it is. plus, the higher levels and the “twisty” slides help keep those bigger kids entertained while the toddlers do their thing.

The Tubes has been on my “to-do” list o’ fun forever! I have to get my kids there soon.

I HATE that place. I hate that when kids get up to the top I have to go in and try to pull them down, I hate the lighting there (it’s creepy dark.) and I hate that big green swirly slide that’s pitch black.
That place seriously makes me want to cry when I go there. 🙁
