Hey you guys! I’ve been watching American Idol off and on for years – I did not watch the first season, but have watched it pretty much every year thereafter, not necessarily every.single.episode. or season for that matter, but I’ve watched it regularly.
I do not get too involved until it goes live and when they have the top 24 or 25 or 20; the number is ever changing and they throw in different rules and exceptions every year. I like the live performances and not so much the ridiculous auditions from the ridiculous people who must know they have no talent whatsoever. You really have to be delusional to get up there and sing, if you want to call it that, on live T.V. or either the producers are slipping some bills in, because you can not tell me that some of these folks really believe they have talent. Where are their friends and families? Why would they not only tell them they are good singers but even accompany them to the auditions?
Now that I am finished with my rant, I’ll move on to some true talent.
The internet is swarming over Phillip Phillips and I couldn’t help but take the bait myself. This guy gave me chills and I could honestly go sit in some dive (I like dives) and listen and watch him perform all night. During his audition, Jennifer Lopez said it was as though “he had electricity running through his veins”, she was dead on. He has seems to have a very humble personality, shy grin and an all together very appealing package. He auditioned with his version of the Stevie Wonder classic, Superstition and then Michael Jacksons, Thriller on the guitar. The Thriller performance was off the charts.
So, America, get ready for the young and old to be crushing on this new heart throb in jeans and flip-flops, boyish smile and handsome good looks. He is no doubt going to be a front runner, could take this competition and run now and will be talked/blogged/tweeted about for a long time to come.
