Bounce U Create & Bounce Spring Art Camp – 3050 N. Josey Lane, ( SE corner of Josey and Frankford, next to the Harbor Freight). Visit the Wizarding World of BounceU and explore the sights, sounds and fun that lie within! Did you know the word Abracadabra comes from the Hebrew expression, I create as I speak.  This week your little ones will be transformed into little wizards as they create their own costume! COLLINSVILLE Spring Break Camps

Camp Tonkawa – 1036 CR 203, Collinsville Tx. 76233.  Our mission is to reconnect mankind with nature with our “hands on” teaching of ancient Native American skills of nature awareness and primitive wilderness survival. The Camp Tonkawa property is a certified wildlife refuge. Our woods of oak and junipers have plenty of trails, a small creek, fishing pond, swimming pond, pasture, organic garden, barn and a long house.   • Western Days Spring Camp – Monday, March 12th (10am) through Wednesday, March 14th (3pm) and Wednesday 21st through Friday the 23rd. Costs: $250/$100 Deposit will secure your spot. Includes all meals. Length of Time: 3 FULL days, 2 nights. Class Description – This camp was designed for the younger horse lover, aged 9 to 13 years. Come play “Cowboys and Indians” with us, Camp Tonkawa style! A three day camp will have half a day with horses: controlled riding sessions, grooming, feeding, a trail ride. Also will include archery, canoeing, a scavenger hunt, games and crafts. Sleep in Indian Tipis, eat Dutch oven cooking, and just have a rodeo of fun. We have a swimming pond, so bring provisions to enjoy. NOTE : All classes have a minimum number of registrants to make or sorry to say it will be cancelled. So bring your friends and tell everyone you know. Some classes are listed but are not currently on the schedule for the upcoming year. If your group has an interest we can schedule a date for you.   • Trot Horsemanship Day Camp – March 15th 2012. Costs: $75. Length of Time: 10am – 3pm. A fun filled day for you “Horse Lovers”. Cpme improve your riding skills with fun activities. Prerequisite is the Basic Horsemanship Day Camp and pre-approval by our staff. We hope you’ll remember what we taught you and can now practice it all. This will include the haltering, leading, grooming, tacking up and then riding. Followed by the cooling out and feeding. We’ll start with an introductory ride working on proper posture, cueing and gaits. A horse Obstacle Course will be used to make it interesting and to measure your progress. Then we’ll hit the road for a Trail Ride. Bring your own lunch. Space is limited since each person will need their own horse for the day, so register early. Extra classes can be scheduled if need. Class limit 6-8. Age 10 years old and up. FYI : Camp Tonkawa DOES have some various size helmets, or bring your own. Medical Release Waivers are required – NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Spring Nature Camp – Sunday, March 13th (10am) through Tuesday, March 15th (3pm). Costs: $180/$100 Deposit will secure your spot. Includes all meals. Length of Time: 3 FULL days, 2 nights. Three days of FUN in the woods, for your 7-13 year olds. Learn about the plants and wildlife in our area through fun games and nature awareness activities. Your will also be taught basic camping skills, canoeing, archery, songs, games and crafts. What a fun way to reconnect with nature during the springtime of year. Younger children can have parents accompany them, arrangements must be made on individual basis. Teach them to love nature at an early age is a special gift they have throughout their lives, that will benefit not only them but our earth.
  • Primitive Skills Survival Class 1 and 2 Combo – March 16th-18th. Costs:$150 for adults 16yrs up, $120 for 12-15yrs, $100 for 8-11yrs with adult. Length of Time: Begins at 9:30am on the first day and goes through 2:30pm on the last day. 3 FULL days 2 nights. At any time, anywhere, things can go wrong and you might find yourself in a survival situation. You can survive 3 minutes without oxygen, 3 hours without shelter in extreme conditions, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food. To stay alive, you must find or build a shelter, obtain “safe” drinking water, start a fire and gather food. Survival 1 class will teach you how to build a simple shelter using natural materials, start a fire without matches, and find safe drinking water. Nature’s Supermarket is always open with a buffet of choices. Learning to gather and prepare wild edibles throughout the seasons is an exciting adventure, that includes both plant materials and animals. Then knowing how to prepare them into palatable meals is the next important step. Survival 2 class covers the three aspects of Wild Edible Plants, Wild Meats, and Primitive Cooking. Note: For more information about this class, refer to Primitive Survival 1 and Primitive Survival 2 pages. Together you have the whole “Shelter, Water, Fire, Food” bases covered for complete survival. Outdoor solar showers will be available. We have a swimming pond, so bring provisions to enjoy.   • Cruise The Caribbean! Thursday, 3/15/2012.   Meet some critters of the Caribbean on this more than 3 hour tour! Take a tropical adventure, vacation cruise style, and discover the natural wonders of several Caribbean islands. There is plenty to explore, even if the weather starts getting rough!
  • Indonesian Isles! Friday, 3/16/2012.     Journey to the other side of the world to find Komodo dragons, tigers and more! With forests covering over half of the land, there are many places for these animals to inhabit on the islands of Indonesia.

Museum of Nature and Science Discovery Camps – The Nature Building is located at 3535 Grand Avenue; the Science Building is located at 1318 South Second Avenue.   • Monday, March 12: OWL PROWL – Discover owls “ the giants of the night sky. Feel an owl feather and take a close look at owl talons, skulls and study skins. Learn how owls turn their heads so far around and how they fly so silently. Dissect an owl pellet and prowl the forest looking for roosts. Check nest boxes for nesting owls and chicks. Practice making owl calls to use at home and learn to identify owls by their calls. What a hoot! *Campers bring sack lunch; snacks are provided.
  • Tuesday, March 13: HUMMINGBIRD HO DOWN – Spread your wings and hum along as we explore the smallest birds in the sky. We ™ll discover hummingbirds “ how fast their wings beat, how they build nests, what types of sounds they make, how they fly backwards and sideways. We ™ll taste their favorite food, fill and hang hummingbird feeders together and plant a hummingbird garden then hide-out and watch for them to arrive. *Campers bring sack lunch; snacks are provided.
  • Wednesday, March 14: HERONS & EGRETS – Wade into the fun with an exciting day on the water. We ™ll explore the pond with the graceful herons and egrets and use kayaks and canoes to get a bird's-eye view of the water. We ™ll sneak out to the bird blind and watch these birds hunt and fish for frogs, crawfish and snakes and we ™ll meet some of their favorite foods up close. We ™ll even try fishing the heron way! (This camp requires a change of clothes). *Campers bring sack lunch; snacks are provided.
  • Thursday, March 15: BIRDS IN THE ˜HOOD (CITY BIRDS) -Discover the amazing birds that share our urban home. Feel feathers, taste an edible insect, make a bird feeder for home, and learn to use binoculars and field guides. Try out a spotting scope. Learn to identify 10 common birds by sight and sound and make a nature journal to record what you see. Hold a homing pigeon and set it free to watch it navigate home. Together, we ™ll learn some simple things we can do to make our home more bird-friendly. *Campers bring sack lunch; snacks are provided.
  • Friday, March 16: HAWKS & FALCONS – Fly high with hawks and falcons! We ™ll set out on an expedition to find them with binoculars and spotting scopes and learn to tell hawk from falcon and vulture. We ™ll learn to make hawk calls and identify them by ear. We ™ll meet a live bird of prey up close and study its powerful beak and talons to learn how it hunts. Together, we ™ll build kestrel nest boxes to help with our kestrel conservation monitoring project. *Campers bring sack lunch; snacks are provided.

EULESS Spring Break Camps

Ice Skating Spring Break Camp at the Dr. Pepper Star Center – Activities both on and off the ice and all skaters will be supervised the entire time.   Spend Spring break on the ice with us at the Euless facility. Parents, you can drop off your skaters at 12:15 and pick them up at 4:15pm. Camp offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (March 12-14). Pick one day ($25/day) or do all three ($65/3 days). Spring Break Day Camps in FLOWER MOUND

Art House – Studio Art House camps are a great way to make art friends while learning new techniques to express creative ideas and proudly finish artworks to take home. The camps fill up quickly so if you choose to not include Credit Card information with your sign-up, please call us or stop in to take care of the payment as soon as possible to confirm your reservation.   • Chameleon Color Wheel – Learn about primary and secondary colors by creating a chameleon with watercolor that changes color. It is a fun and exciting way to learn how to mix colors. For Age: 4-6 or 7-12, Mon, 03/12/2012 from 9:00 – 12:00. Cost $40.
  • Tie Dye Tee Shirt – The art of Tie-dyeing process involves a blend of chemistry, and artistic placement of color. When successfully merged, this combination results in intricate images of brilliant and durable color – a reflection of the artist’s imagination. Dyes form strong molecular bond to the fiber and last the life of the fabric. In comparison, things like screen prints, transfers and fabric paints are all far less durable than dyes since they merely stick to the surface of the fabric until they shrink, crack and peel away from being washed and worn. Dyed fabrics are inherently more comfortable to wear since dyes don’t reduce breathability or alter surface texture.   For Age: 4-6 or 7-12, Mon 03/12/2012 from 1:00 – 4:00. Cost: $ 40.
  • Gauguin Inspired Reverse Color Landscape – This playful landscape will spur the imagination as the artist creates a stylistic image using complimentary colors.   • One Two Paint a Shoe – This camp will be a guide through the process of designing and then painting a shoe or boot for display or to be wearable art.For Age: 4 to 6 or 7-12. Wed 03/14/2012 from 9:00 – 12:00.Required Materials: Bring an old or a new shoe or boot.Cost: $ 40.

Color Me Mine – Spring Break is March 12-16! Ages 6+ Snacks are provided. Campe are available from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. Costs are $40 for each half day class, $160 for M-F (morning OR afternoon class) 5 classes total, $320 for M-F (morning AND afternoon classes) 10 classes total. Wellington Spring Break Volleyball Camp – for kids grades 5-8.   We will be holding a 4-day volleyball camp here at Wellington during the week of Spring Break for 5th through 8th graders.  It is open to anyone (girls AND BOYS welcome); you don’t have to live in Wellington to participate!   The camp will last for  2 hours daily from 10 am until 12 pm, starting Monday, March 12, 2012.   It will end with a tournament on Thursday, March 15.    Cost is $40 per person.     It will be taught by Inta Jensen, an experienced volleyball veteran.   Registration forms are available here at the Fitness Center or may be downloaded from our website at: Click here.   Please call the Fitness Director at 972-874-8329, email us at fitness@wellingtonhoa.net , or stop  by the Fitness Office  for more information.

Day Camps in FORT WORTH for Spring Break

Campitivity Day Camp – Camp helps build confidence, independence and a love of nature in children. Camptivity combines all the benefits of traditional camp experiences with the flexibility and convenience of a central location. For more than 10 years, experienced staff transforms summer fun with a one-of-a-kind day camp experience for children entering kindergarten through eighth grade. A counselor assistant program is available for students entering ninth through 12th grade.   From swimming and team sports to  archery, fishing, outdoor living skills and arts and crafts, campers experience all the adventures summer day camp has to offer. Spring Break Day Camps in GRAPEVINE

Grapevine Community   Activity Center Spring Break Camp – Looking for some fun on your Spring Break? You have found it at the CAC Spring Break Day Camp!   The Kids will participate in supervised activities such as basketball, dodgeball, scavenger hunts,tournaments and team building exercises. Day Camps in SACHSE for Spring Break

Capricorn Equestrian Center– 6101 Ben Road Sachse, TX 75048. Camps are 9:00 am “ 5:00 pm for ages 6-14. Cost is $65 per day or $275 for the week.   Campers are divided into groups according to riding experience, comfort level, or age. Groups are then taught safety around horses, how to saddle and bridle, and are matched to a horse with the camper's needs in mind. Every day features two one-hour lessons on horseback. In addition to riding, campers will learn about taking care of horses by helping with traditional barn chores like feeding, watering, and grooming horses as well as cleaning the barn area. Other activities during the week include outside games, arts and crafts, games on horseback, and horse costume/grooming contests. On Friday, Capricorn hosts a camper horse show for family and friends to attend.   Capricorn provides the horses, tack, and helmets*. Our facility also includes an air-conditioned lunchroom and refrigerators for campers to use. Remember, most of the day will be spent outside, so take that into account when preparing your child for each day of camp. Art House – Studio Art House camps are a great way to make art friends while learning new techniques to express creative ideas and proudly finish artworks to take home. The camps fill up quickly so if you choose to not include Credit Card information with your sign-up, please call us or stop in to take care of the payment as soon as possible to confirm your reservation.   • Chameleon Color Wheel – Learn about primary and secondary colors by creating a chameleon with watercolor that changes color. It is a fun and exciting way to learn how to mix colors. For Age: 4-6 or 7-12, Mon, 03/12/2012 from 9:00 – 12:00. Cost $40.
  • Tie Dye Tee Shirt – The art of Tie-dyeing process involves a blend of chemistry, and artistic placement of color. When successfully merged, this combination results in intricate images of brilliant and durable color – a reflection of the artist’s imagination. Dyes form strong molecular bond to the fiber and last the life of the fabric. In comparison, things like screen prints, transfers and fabric paints are all far less durable than dyes since they merely stick to the surface of the fabric until they shrink, crack and peel away from being washed and worn. Dyed fabrics are inherently more comfortable to wear since dyes don’t reduce breathability or alter surface texture.   For Age: 4-6 or 7-12, Mon 03/12/2012 from 1:00 – 4:00. Cost: $ 40.
  • Gauguin Inspired Reverse Color Landscape – This playful landscape will spur the imagination as the artist creates a stylistic image using complimentary colors. It is a design inspired by the expressive work of Paul Gauguin who used color to show feeling.   For Age: 4-6 or 7-12, Tues 03/13/2012 from 9:00 – 12:00. Cost: $ 40.
  • Mask – A mask will be created with personal design while learning the elements of design as a guide. There are many fun materials at the disposal of the designer to make their creation. For Age: 4-6 or 7-12, Tues 03/13/2012 from 1:00 – 4:00. Cost: $ 40.
  • One Two Paint a Shoe – This camp will be a guide through the process of designing and then painting a shoe or boot for display or to be wearable art.For Age: 4 to 6 or 7-12. Wed 03/14/2012 from 9:00 – 12:00.Required Materials: Bring an old or a new shoe or boot.Cost: $ 40.
  • Accordion Sketchbook/ Brag Book – This accordian sketchbook is fun to make and can be used for a sketchbook or photos can be pasted in for a great brag book. For Age: 4 to 6 and 7-12. Wed 03/14/2012 from 1:00 – 4:00. Cost: $ 40.
  • Cartooning in Color – Cartooning is one of our most requested camp classes. Register early, this one fills up quickly. Students will learn step by step on how to draw cartoon characters with emphasis on expressions and action. The characters will then be given color that makes the frame pop with excitement.   For Age: 4 to 6, Thurs 03/15/2012 from 9:00 – 12:00 or ages 7-12 from 1:00 – 4:00. Cost: $ 40.
  • Drawing with Complimentary Colors – Learn about complimentary color and design while creating a fun and interesting drawing with markers.
