  • Jr. Americans Holiday Hockey Camp – Perfect your goal scoring dangles this break at our Jr. Americans Holiday Hockey Camp! This three day camp will include 60 minutes of skill instruction and 30 minutes of small area games and is open to all Mite, Squirt and Pee Wee youth hockey players. Session 1 will be held the week before Christmas from December 20 to 23, while Session 2 will be held the week after Christmas from December 27 to 29.   • AAHL Holiday Hockey Camp – Looking to perfect your goal scoring dangles or develop a wicked hard slap shot over the holiday break? If so, the AAHL will be holding a Holiday Hockey Camp on Allen Event Center Arena ice! Each three day camp will include 60 minutes of skill instruction and 30 minutes of small area games. Open to all adult players 18 and up.Only $99 per session and registration is limited. All on-ice participants must wear full equipment.

Coppell Winter Camps for Kids

Holiday Camp Do-It-All, Coppell Aquatic Recreation Center, 234 East Parkway Blvd. in Coppell. Corinth Camps for the Holiday Break

Holiday Basketball Camp, Corinth City Hall, 3300 Corinth Parkway. 10 December. Participants age 9-14 will receive instruction on the competitive elements of a basketball game to enhance fundamental skills and game specific strategies. The participants will explore the structure of team concepts with an assigned coach per group in a circuit training format. The coaches will implement proper shooting techniques (free throws, short corner shots, and lay-up and shooter selection) and learning of a variety of defensive systems and transitions. This camp is designed to be a preparation skills camp for the winter pre-season basketball league; however, the camp is open to all league participants or non-participants. At the completion of the circuit instruction, a single elimination tournament will be played. Participants are required to bring a sack lunch. All participants will recieve professional instruction, a mid-day Snack and Beverage, 12 minute Scrimmage Game.   • Introductory Video Game Creation Program, Ages 8-15 ¢ Introductory & Intermediate, PC Based. Starting with basic commands, campers will be taught in a step-by-step progression how to build a game that they design. Camp begins with an introduction to Game Maker software including adding rooms, building walls, adding backgrounds, warping to new levels, music, sound effects and many other great techniques. The first few days focus on programming basics and by late week the children are well on their way to creating their own unique game.   • Video Game Creation- The Sequel, Ages 8-15 ¢ Introductory-Intermediate, MS Windows. In the spirit of Mario, Sonic, Samus and other legendary video game stars, comes our newest camp offering. Campers use Game Maker software to create side-scrolling, platform game with running, jumping, falling, climbing, blasting, and enemy stomping! Students will incorporate real world physics like gravity and friction, while plotting out head scratching mazes for themselves and other avid gamers to solve. North Texas Winter Pitching-Catching Camp, $50.00 for 2-hour session. North Texas Softball will be conducting a pitching and catching clinic on December 10th from 4:00pm -6:30pm in Denton, TX. The pitching instruction will be given by current North Texas pitching coach Lisa Ferguson, and the catching instruction will be given by former North Texas assistant coach Josh Claudio. Holiday Craze, Holiday Craze is a recreational day-camp program operated by the Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation Department. Holiday Craze is open to children ages 6-12 years.   • Acrylic Painting, 8-12 yrs ages.   Special offering during the Christmas Holiday. Come paint a painting at Monart. 8×10 canvases in acrylic.   • Pokemon Mania, Afternoon: 6-12 yrs.   Everything Pokemon — If you have got a Pokemon fanatic in your family this is the class for them. Three afternoons of drawing Pokemon.   • Watercolors with Sharen, Mornings: Adult 13+.   Something special for our older students. Students 13 and older can come take a 2 day watercolor class from Sharen Chatteron. Sharen is a local artist who has really begun to make a name for herself. Her use of brilliant colors and layering of colors in watercolors is dramatic. Sharen will teach the classes on Tuesday, Dec. 27th from 10-12p (Pointsettas) and Wednesday Dec. 28th 10-12p (Christmas ornaments).
