Canoe kids outdoors Join the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge for Monster Bash 2011 – a celebration of the 42nd anniversary of the sighting of the Lake Worth Monster.   Forty-two years ago, Fort Worth was abuzz with reported sightings of the Lake Worth Monster. Although the creature ”described as a hairy, scaly 7-foot-tall man-goat-beast ” hasn't been seen regularly since that memorable summer of 1969, locals can attend Monster Bash to celebrate this legend and the habitat he calls home.

Park your car at the festival parking, visit the environmental vendors & food booths, and listen to music by talented local musicians The Skip Pullig Band, Barbara Taylor, & Joel McElhany. There will be many interactive games & activities for people of all ages! At the festival area, you can get snacks and even get a picture with the Lake Worth Monster. Your little ones will enjoy all kinds of fun interactive kids ™ games & crafts at the Kids ™ Monster Headquarters. Ever wondered how to build a monster? Your kids will be busy building monsters while learning about the local habitat that the Monster calls home. And take a ride on the Monster Hayride for $5 per person.   Don't miss out on this alternative form of transportation to see the park. Along the route, you will learn about the lore & legend of the Lake Worth Monster. Could he still be lurking in the woods just beyond the road? What does he eat?
