Sometimes we forget the real meaning of Christmas and that is, to spend time with the ones you love.
Often times, we as parents get so caught up in the idea that our kids need lots of new gifts to make Christmas magical and that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
With that being said, this mom’s now viral video has the most genius Christmas gift idea and parents are thanking her for it.
Laurie (@killinitsince86) uploaded a video of her baby Lilly and all the items she’d rather play with than her brand-new toys.
The caption says “Babies at Christmas” and you see her adorably baby girl playing with random things found around the house such as a hair brush, TV remote and even a package of wipes.
In such a short video, so much was said.
Especially when it comes to babies, they don’t need new gifts. Sometimes it’s just the little things you can find around the house that bring them the most joy.
So, stop stressing that your children won’t have a great Christmas, they will mama and you are doing just fine!
Moms are applauding Laurie for her video saying things like:
“This may be one of the best TikToks to come across my page as I freak out about Christmas!”
Another parent shared:
“And here I felt like a bad mom for planning to wrap random items like pinecones in Kleenex boxes.”
Laurie responded, “Bad mom?! More like the BEST mom! Give the babies what they really want!”
I love this message so much!
And for those with older kids struggling with this idea – maybe try a toy swap? Swap gently used toys with other moms in your area and wrap them up. I bet your kids will love it!
