let’s make Candy Corn Cupcakes Recipe
Rory’s dad loves candy corn! It is a year-round food in our household. His favorite thing to do is make a candy corn recipe – candy corn and peanuts.
Rory will watch him eat it and ask for daddy’s corn. I normally don’t like giving her any candy, but I slack on my rigidness when I see those big eyes and crazy blond hair looking up at me.
Since Rory’s three favorite things in the world are daddy’s corn, cupcakes, and baking; I thought it would be great to combine the three!
This was a very easy and affordable Halloween dessert – and it was fun for everyone!

instructions to make candy corn cupcakes
Step 1
We made a normal yellow cake mix by following all the instructions on the package. While we were mixing, we counted all of our stirs and talked about how we were stirring in a circle.
Step 2
When we were done mixing, we divided the batter into two bowls. One of the bowls will be a yellow-colored batter, and the other will be an orange-colored batter.
Step 3
We talked about making the colors. The batter is already a yellowish color, to begin with, but to spice it up and make it a glowing yellow, I added a little bit of yellow food coloring, just to make it pop.
Step 4
In the other bowl, I added some red and some yellow food coloring to make it the perfect orange.
Step 5
Once you have the colors looking perfect and your cupcake holders in place, you can begin to make the cupcakes! (I didn’t have any cupcake holders in my house, so we just used our regular cupcake tins; which worked fine; however, I would have liked for my cupcakes to have had better color.)
In typical candy corn fashion, put a little of the yellow cupcake batter into the cupcake holders. Fill then half full.
Step 6
Then add some of the orange batters on top, filling it up to the top. Bake according to the mix directions.
Step 7
When they are done baking, let them cool on a cooling rack.
Step 8
Once they are cooled, put a nice dollop of white icing on top.
Step 9
Finish with a piece (or pieces) of candy corn.
This Candy Corn Cupcake Recipe is sure to be a hit with kids this Halloween!
