Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Launched a Free Virtual Camp for Kids

The only thing better than a virtual camp for kids that’s free? One where your lead camp counselor is Kristen Bell! 

The actress, along with her husband Dax Shepard, launched Camp Hello Bello on April 1 via Instagram Live. Bell kicked off the camp by reading one of her favorite children’s books by Charlie Mackesy, “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.” 

She also shared why they started the camp in a classic Kristen Bell way. She said:

“Rule number one, do whatever the [audible beep] you need to do to stay sane…Almost exactly one year ago today we created Hello Bello for one reason, because parenting alone is hard. Little did we know how hard it could get, because parenting alone in quarantine is um, well it’s impossible.”

Yeah, Kristen Bell is amazing. 

Hello Bello Virtual Camp Activities

Now, on a daily basis, through Camp Hello Bello, parents can access an array of activity for their kids. From story times and singalongs to science experiments and crafting classes, there is SO much to choose from. If your kids want to learn sewing? There’s a class for that. Do you have a theater star in the making? There’s a camp class for that too. (They even offer an occasional virtual camp class for parents, like makeup application tips!) Classes are hosted on a variety of social media platforms, and every single activity is free.  Kids earn and download a badge after they complete each class, making it feel even more like a camp experience. The “campers” also get entered into some fun giveaways. We may be stuck at home for the near future, but at least Camp Hello Bello is helping keeping us busy, engaged, and entertained, all while learning something new.

While Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd are the masterminds behind this fabulous virtual camp, they’ve recruited some awesome parents to be camp counselors to lead the majority of the classes.
