Easy Snack/Dessert for Kids

This is hands down my kids favorite snack, dessert or meal drink.

Mom, can you make us a smoothie?

YES!

This is what I do…

Basic Fruit and Yogurt Shake Recipe

  • 1 cup of vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of milk {may need more if the yogurt is thick}
  • 3 bananas
  • 1/2 – 1 cup of fruit (or a few spoonfuls of chocolate milk powder/syrup)
  • 2 cups of ice
  • COOL WHIP whipped topping

Blend the yogurt, bananas and fruit together adding just enough milk to make it blend easily.   Once these ingredients are combined to desired consistency, add the ice and blend. Pour into glasses and top with COOL WHIP.

This will fill my blender and make 3 LARGE servings for my three boys.   Likely the REAL amount would easily serve 4.

Last night we made blueberry & banana smoothies which used one of the small clam shell packages of blueberries {pictured above}.

Other favorites are strawberry & banana and chocolate & banana.

It always seems more fun and quite a bit fancier with a little COOL WHIP spooned on top!

The other good thing is that the kids can help with every step.   Sometimes I guide the recipe a bit when they come up with crazy fruit combinations that I am afraid won’t be willingly consumed.
