our experience in making st. patrick cinnamon rolls

One of my favorite St. Patrick’s Day traditions is to eat green foods– and if they’re not green naturally then we color them green!

The book, St. Patrick’s Day in the Morning by Eve Bunting, makes a great story to go along with these St. Patrick’s Cinnamon Rolls.

It is a wonderful story about a young boy who is told he is too young to participate in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Not to be deterred, he rises early on the morning of St. Patrick’s Day to hike the parade route with his dog to prove that his family was wrong.

Along the way, Jamie is given a roll by Mrs. Simm’s of the Half Way Up Sweet Shop. Jamie makes it to the top and leaves something so no one will question who made it up the hill first.
