Kids of all ages will adore creating DIY Jack O’Lantern Plates that they can really use! This craft is easy, inexpensive, and will be treasured for years to come.
DIYÂ Jack O’Lantern Plates
This activity is perfect for children’s Halloween parties or lazy afternoons at home. The plates are dishwasher safe and will become a treasured keepsake.
To make this craft you will need:
- Orange plates (I purchased ours from The Dollar Tree)
- Black Sharpie Markers
Wash the plates, then invite children to make a Jack O’Lantern face. It’s helpful to have several markers available. If desired, kids can also use colored Sharpie markers.
Invite children to sign and date the plate! Put the plates into the oven and set the temperature to 350 degrees. Bake the plates for 30 minutes. Then turn off the heat and allow the plates to cool in the oven.
I put the plates through the dishwasher and they were fine, but hand-washing may be a safer way to clean them long-term. After all, you don’t want those cute little drawings to fade!
