Honk! Jr. at the Actors Conservatory Theatre

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling, Honk! Jr. will teach children (and remind adults) that we should accept others for who they are and not for what they look like.   It’s ok to be different, just make sure to be yourself and you will be loved.

Jr. will be performed on Fridays at 7:00 pm, Saturdays at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, and Sundays at 2:00 pm through October 16th.   The performances will take place at the Crawford Center for the Arts, 1720 S. The Actors Conservatory Theatre began as a small group of passionate people in 1999.   It has grown and moved over the years but it’s focus has always remained to bring classic literature and arts to children in the community.   Performances at the ACT are performed by children for children of all ages.   The organization is non-profit and volunteer-driven. Every actor or actress who auditions receives a role and learns about the theatre, how to act, sing and dance, and the art of stage production. But at The ACT, children also learn about the author, the time period covered by adapted piece of literature and the geography, giving them a well rounded educational experience. No experience is necessary and children as young as 3 can take part during the summer, while those as young as kindergarten can be included during the school year. All children are welcome no matter what their race, creed, nationalitiy, experience or physical challenges! Many children get their start in theatre through The ACT and as they grow, new and exciting theatre adventures await them through the High School Company, for all those 13 and above.
