2011 marks the 60th Anniversary of the partnership between Arlington and her sister city, Bad Königshofen, Germany. In honor of this anniversary, Arlington introduces the First Arlington Christkindl Market (Kris-kin-dill Market) to deepen knowledge of the German culture in the community.
Arlington Christkindl Market is an enchanting family market in the tradition of those held throughout Germany during the Christmas season. Set up as an Old World- style charming festival, this outdoor market offers authentic German cuisine, beverages, entertainment, arts, crafts, exquisite unique ornaments, rare European crafts and holiday gifts and the opportunity to devour German delicacies like brats, goulash, potato pancakes, gingerbread, cookies, German beers and Gluhwein!

Regular hours are Thurs Dec 8 3pm “10pm, Fri Dec 9 3pm “10pm, Sat Dec 10 10am “10pm, Sun Dec 11 11am “7pm. Admission is free and open to the public. The Opening Ceremonies promises a festive beginning to a new annual tradition in Arlington, featuring:
* Official Tree Lighting with Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck and City Council member Sheri Capehart
* Special Appearance by the Christkindl Angel
* Arlington Academy Choir performance
* Fireworks Display
If you can’t make it to the opening ceremonies, don’t worry. There are several days of food and fun to enjoy at the Arlington Christkindl Market.
Enjoy delicious foods from many regional eateries including Helmut’s Original Austrian Strudel, Everything German Restaurant, Juergen’s German Grill, and Old World Sausage Company, plus many more!
Entertainment for the whole family fills the air of the Christkindl Market as many different performing acts take the stage. Live entertainment from the main stage will include performances by Tarrant County Community College theatre group, German band of North Texas and many other musicians and dancers from across the region.

Experience the Christkindl Market from a horse-drawn carriage! Tickets are $15 adults, $5 kids. Carriage times are Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9 from 6pm – 9pm; Saturday, Dec. 10: 2pm – 9pm; and Sunday, Dec. 11: 12noon- 5pm.
