I had the pleasure of attending an event on Monday evening at the Milestone Culinary Arts Center in Dallas for a Bertolli Premium Meal Soup tasting. You may remember back to Monday. Rainy, chilly Monday. An absolutely PERFECT evening to enjoy a cup of soup…or 5. bertolli soup event soupThe event started with a little cooking competition between the Bertolli Chef and fellow blogger, Jennifer as to who could make soup faster. The Bertolli Chef started chopping celery. Jennifer had the entire bag of frozen Bertolli Chicken Minestrone soup dumped into a pot with some water in about 5 seconds flat. That was it. Game over. I have used almost ALL of the frozen Bertolli meals for two for this very reason.   They are quick! Quick is great if it tastes good. We moved on to the tasting. Roasted Chicken & Rotini Pasta This soup has white meat chicken, pasta, zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, and celery which are all snuggled into a chicken broth. It is chicken noodle soup at it’s easiest. I liked the taste of this.   It had all the comfort of home without the prep time of traditional chicken noodle soup. Bertolli MinestroneChicken Minestrone The chicken minestrone soup had roasted chicken, beans, zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, tomatoes and pasta in a vegetable broth. It was HEARTY.   The absolute best thing to curl up on the couch {in front of a good movie} on a rainy Dallas evening. Seriously.   You will need a baguette, but other than that…this is perfect. Bertolli Tuscan Beef soupTuscan-Style Beef with Vegetables This the soup that surprised me the most.   It has beef, mushrooms, yellow squash, zucchini, carrots and celery with bowtie pasta. It was delicious.   Seriously.   And a complete meal. I happen to be married to a man that will ONLY eat beef and this will be perfect.   It is easy to prepare…so easy that he could do it in a short time period while working from home and it is hearty enough to be lunch or dinner. Chicken Pasta soup from BertolliTomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken I have intentionally saved my favorite for last.   Mmmmmm…. This soup is heavenly.   It has a tomato basil soup base that reminds me of La Madeline and then adds chicken, spinach, tomatoes and cheese-filled tortellini. YUM. It is a full meal and I promise you will go back for a second bowl… That is how I ended up eating 5 bowls of soup at a 4 soup tasting! The Bertolli Premium Meal Soups for Two can be found in the freezer section of your grocery store as well as Walmart and Target.   The ingredients of each soup are flash frozen separately which allows the texture of each element to remain intact.   It literally tastes like homemade soup. Thanks so much to Bertolli who hosted such a fun evening.   I ate myself silly and was sent home with more to try at home.
