This weekend we celebrated Memorial Day at my parents’ house.
They live on a lake.
First came this…
And then this…
Yep,
I backed over the tow rope which caused one end to lodge itself into the
jet ski motor rendering it useless until someone does major surgery on the motor…that someone is my dad.
And so we needed to get the jet ski out of the water to be able to fix what I had done…

There was Holly’s dad who saw her back over a rope.
I dunno why she backed over that rope,
She felt like a dope.
There was Holly’s dad who backed up a trailer,
That slipped and slid and got stuck trying to save her.
He backed up the trailer to salvage the rope.
But I dunno why she backed over that rope.
She felt like a dope.
There was Holly’s dad who backed up a tractor,
Forgetting the MUD FACTOR he backed up a tractor.
He backed up the tractor to catch the trailer,
That slipped and slid and got stuck trying to save her.
He backed up the trailer to salvage the rope.
But I dunno why she backed over the rope.
She felt like a dope.
There was Holly’s dad who backed up his vette.
Don’t lament! He backed up his vette.
He backed up his vette to catch the tractor…

Update: My dad called tonight an reported that the ropotomy went well. He was able to dislodge it from the motor and return the jet ski without incident to the lake.
And dads will always still love us………..
Even if we feel like a dope!
That is the shiniest, fanciest super high performance towing vehicle I’ve seen anywhere.
Totally sounds like something I would have done. That’s why I either ride in the boat as a passenger or in the tube pulled by the boat.
And where’s the potluck? I’ve brought this egg salad two weeks in a row now, and it’s not going to keep much longer.
Someone seems to be off-key. Let’s sing it again.

Looked like a terrific (1st half of the) day. The good news is you have boys so witnessing a jet ski extraction was probably right up their alley.
Ugh .. Back in the day when we had jetskis I’ve done that. Its no funand a great way to end a perfectly great day. But we were always way out inthe middle of grapevne lake and had to get towed back .. AND seriously.. The VETTE.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME
I am so glad the ropotomy went well. I was very concerned, wouldn’t want a rope memorial on Memorial Day!
By the way, how do you jet ski and still have DRY, beautiful hair that you can wear down! SO jealous!
