Fossilmania is here!
If you like hunting for fossils and rocks or just love anything related to paleontology then Fossilmania is the place for you. Of course, there will be plenty of fossils to see as well as books, maps and tools for sale. The DPS and Paleontological Society of Austin will be there to answer questions about fossils and provide free educational material for everyone. Plus there will be free fossils for all kids that attend.
Event Schedule: Friday, October 28th Door open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 7:30 p.m. – Special presentation by Charles “Chuck” Finsley. Chuck Finsley was with the Dallas Museum of Natural History from 1961 to 1995. Chuck is a great speaker and is the author of two books: “A Field Guide to Fossils of Texas” and “Discover Texas Dinosaurs”. Be sure to get copies of both books at Fossilmania. Saturday, October 29th Doors open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hourly door prize drawings. 7:30 p.m. – Fossil auction and raffle prize drawing. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You do not need to be present to win! Sunday, October 30th Doors open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.She Is Dallas Info: Fossilmania will take place Friday, October 28 – Sunday, October 30th at the Somervell County Expo Center located at 202 Bo Gibbs Blvd in Glen Rose. Glen Rose is about 55 miles southwest from downtown Fort Worth and 75 miles from downtown Dallas. This event is open to the public and admission is FREE!
