- Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. He’s also known by his initials MJ.
- He is a former American professional basketball player and businessman and is considered the greatest basketball player of all time.
- His game-winning shot in the 1982 NCAA championship game during his freshman year at UNC is considered one of the greatest moments in the history of the game of basketball.
- He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1984 as the first player in the NBA draft.
- Jordan played for the Bulls for 15 NBA seasons and won six NBA championships, five NBA MVP awards, NBA defensive player of the year award, and ten scoring titles during his basketball career.
- Michael Jordan’s father, James Jordan, inspired him to pursue a basketball career. He played for the Birmingham Barons and Washington Wizards species.

- His sneakers, the Air Jordan 2, were the first luxury basketball sneakers.
- Between 1984 and 1996, Michael Jordan made 2,186 dunks during the regular season and he dunked 448 times during playoffs.
- He was a member of the 1992, “Dream Team” including Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, David Robinson and Karl Malone, that won the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona in 1992.
- He scored 69 points in a single game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1990, the second-highest scoring game in NBA history behind Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game.
- Jordan also starred in the movie “Space Jam” alongside Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters.
- He made several game-winning shots throughout his career, including one in the 1998 MBA Finals against the Utah Jazz, known as “The Last Shot.”
