Every once in a while you find a place that you’re so excited about you just can’t wait to tell everyone you know.  This is exactly how I feel about Jimmy’s Food Store.  My husband spent 8 years of his childhood/high school years in Italy and he loves all things Italian, so when my neighbor told me about this great Italian market in Dallas I knew that we had to check it out.

We’ve been several times now and we’ve never been disappointed.  They make the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten.  The ingredients are so fresh and light. Jimmy’s is on the corner of Bryan and Fitzhugh in Dallas and they have managed to cram a lot of stuff in a small space.  Half of the store contains an impressive wine collection and they also have fresh fruits and vegetables, and of course pasta!

At the back of the store they have a full service deli.  You can buy fresh meat, sliced meat- or what we always go for- their famous sandwiches.

I ordered the Prosciutto Panino which is a 6 bun with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, olive oil and basil.  It’s $6.99 and could easily be split among 2 people- it’s huge!

My husband ordered the Calabrese Panino which is a  6″ bun with pros cotto, fontina, and marinated peppers which was also $6.99.  We also picked up some tiramasu and eclairs strictly for research purposes and they were both delicious.

Jimmy’s is located at 4901 Bryan Street at Fitzhugh – Dallas TX, 75206 – 214.823.6180.  Jimmy’s is open Monday through Saturday 9 AM to 7:30 PM, closed on Sundays.
