drive in movie If your family hasn’t experienced a movie under the stars yet, I highly recommend you enjoy one this summer. We are big fans of outdoor drive-in movies in our family! To host a “drive-in” movie all you need for the kiddos are a few supplies!

Supplies to make cars for the drive in movie:

  • boxes
  • construction paper
  • tape
We used paper plates for wheels but you can also make them from construction paper. Cover the box with construction paper or wrapping paper then add your tail lights, wheels and design. My son used a paper plate for his steering wheel.  He wanted his car to be a race car so we added a flag with the number 100 on it because according to him race cars NEED flags.  We have hosted lots of outdoor movies so I recently shared some tips on how to host an outdoor movie party,  that you might find helpful. You can make the movie snacks very simple like popping microwave popcorn, chips and coke. kids at drive in movie
Kids would spend all day outdoors if they could.   Take a look at these other fun outdoor activities like target practice games and sunflower clubhouses – then get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine!
  • Kids Sunflower Clubhouse – create this incredible sunflower garden that the kids can actually play in!
  • Camping for the Fun of It – Kids love nooks, nooks for reading, nooks for pretending, nooks for re-grouping (time-outs), nooks for having magical lunches in whimsical places, nooks to bring the outdoors in.
  • Target Practice Game – set up this homemade game in your backyard and the kids can get some target practice with Nerf guns.
