SIGHT WORD LIST
Since sight words are best taught early, we have prepared words that start with the letter S for your Kindergartners and 1st Graders!
Some words beginning with the letter S are hard to pronounce one syllable at a time. For those words, we rely on memorizing a sight word list. The list below contains the most common letter S sight words for kindergarten and first grade. If you find more words that are difficult for your child, you can always add them to your study sessions. This list of words can have as many or as few words as your child needs.

Make it fun, and the memorization will come. The games you use for one letter may not work for the letter S, and that is okay!

If any of the words are too hard or easy for your child, feel free to borrow from the other lists! Remember to take the time to sound out each letter with your child, even if it takes a million and one tries for them to get it once.

If your child has something mastered, keep it in rotation of study in order to keep them confident and sure of themselves.
2ND GRADE SPELLING LIST:
Second grade spelling words are nothing to scoff at! If you find your child struggling through words that start with the letter S, take a break to play a game or do some coloring to prevent frustration.
3RD GRADE SPELLING WORDS THAT START WITH THE LETTER S:
Spelling drills can wear on anyone. As you and your children work to master words that start with the letter S, make sure to take breaks to focus on other aspects of learning whenever you or your child begin to feel frustrated. You can do this, together.
