Next up in the alphabet is words that start with the letter F!  Do you already have an answer when someone asks how to teach sight words? At the end of the day, I always come back to the core ideas behind teaching sight words.  

SIGHT WORD LIST

Since sight words are best taught early, we have prepared words that start with the letter F for your Kindergartners and 1st Graders! Some words beginning with the letter F are hard to pronounce one letter at a time. For those words, we rely on memorizing a sight word list. The list below contains the most common letter F sight words for kindergarten and first grade. If you find more words that are difficult for your child, you can always add them to your activities. This list of words can have as many words as you would like.

Of all of the words on this list, I have found “find” to be the most useful. We are always playing games with our sight word list, when out and about. The easiest game of all? “Can you find–?”

1st Grade spelling words are so crucial to a child’s development. Words that start with the letter F are no exception to this rule. Lifelong skills are developed in understanding of letter combinations. This list of 1st grade spelling words may be the first time your child has seen the “fth” in “fifth” and it’s absolutely okay for them to struggle a little. Never lose faith and never stop trying new sight word activities! When in doubt, try a new one out!
