Breakfast IS my favorite meal of the day. My family loves to go to a pancake house for breakfast!
Since that is not always practical, we have a few pancake house favorites that we make at home.
Delicious Pancake House Recipes
One of the things that is great about pancake houses is that they are not shy with their pancake topping combinations.
Why stop with just syrup? They get creative and so can we!

1. Chocolate Cherry {pan}Cake
Top your pancake stack with Nutella, cherries, and COOL WHIP whipped topping. This morning I used my favorite low sugar cherry pie filling, but often I will use canned or frozen cherries and thicken the cherry juice with corn starch. If you aren’t a Nutella fan, then check out Peanut Butter & Co’s Dark Chocolate Dreams which is different and super yummy.
2. Apple Caramel {pan}Cake
This pancake is topped with applesauce, drizzled with caramel and then a dollop of COOL WHIP. You can make applesauce {check out my super easy applesauce recipe} or use the prepared version. I used a package of caramel that is sold in the produce section of my grocery store for dipping apples. It is convenient due to the single serve amount that will top 3-5 pancakes.
3. Peanut Butter Banana {pan}Cake
A favorite combination of peanut butter and banana is topped with COOL WHIP to make it a bit fancier.
4. Pancake Topping Bar
If you have indecisive eaters in the house, then why not make a little topping bar with your family’s favorites? This works well at my house since cherries added to #3 is marvelous or Nutella is a good base for #2. The combinations are endless!

Love it. I do not like syrup, so I am always adding something new on top of my pancakes. Even on a simple day, some jelly or apple/pumpkin/peach butter is great.
i think i’m going to cook them, now!
