January is so close, I can almost taste it and know exactly how it is going to go. People are typically using the first of a new year to make new year’s resolutions and finally fulfill their need to get fit and kick those unhealthy habits. In fact, millions of people are participating in a challenge dubbed ‘Veganary’ and it’s basically going Vegan for January.

What is Veganary?

Again, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Veganary is going Vegan for the entire month of January. That means you eat nothing but what is part of the Vegan diet in hope’s to jumpstart your weight-loss and overall healthiness. It was first started by a UK nonprofit organization that encourages people to go vegan for the month of January as a way to promote and educate about a vegan lifestyle.

What do Vegans Eat?

The Vegan Diet consists of anything that is not made from or a by product of an animal. Vegans eat:
  • veggies
  • fruits
  • tofu
  • plant-based milks
  • plant-based meats (they aren’t really meat but more of a meat substitute)
  • beans
  • lentils

This means, Vegans do NOT eat:
  • meat
