I’m one of those people who love tradition, and that’s especially true when it comes to holidays and meals. I can remember years and years of my Mom and Grandma making Thanksgiving dinner and there are a few things that always stick out in my mind as MUST have when it comes to dinner. Of course the turkey and pumpkin pie but after that – mashed potatoes and green bean casserole.
There is just something about this classic green bean casserole that is warm, cozy and makes you remember all those Thanksgiving dinners over the years with family. This is one of those recipes that never seem to have any leftovers either, it’s gone within minutes and every year you remind yourself that you should have made a double batch but then you never remember next year!

Classic Green Bean Casserole ingredients
Here’s what you will need to make this green bean casserole.
- 2 Cans Green Beans, cut
- 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- Salt & Pepper
- French Fried Onions
Directions to make green bean casserole recipe
Step 1
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
Next, mix together the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk in a large bowl. I like to add in about 1/2 cup of French Fried Onions as well.
Step 3
Spread the green bean mixture into a 9 x 9-inch baking dish.
Step 4
Top with the remainder of the French Fried Onions and bake for 25 minutes.
Step 5
Serve and enjoy!
