A couple of years ago at our office gift exchange a co-worker gave everyone something called “Poo-Pourri” (also called poop spray). No one had ever heard of it before and we thought it was a total joke. Turns out, it was a real thing that actually worked. Spray this liquid into the toilet bowl before you use it and there would be no embarrassing odors afterwards. So smart!

DIY POO POURRI TOILET SPRAY

I realized recently how incredibly easy it was to make my own poo spray. It works just as well as the original that you can find in grocery stores and costs way less. Plus, I get to pick the scent with the help of my favorite essential oil!

Let’s admit it. There’s nothing more embarrassing than unpleasant odors in your guest bathroom. Sometimes, no matter what we do, the septic system simply smells like a public restroom! The first time I made my own bathroom spray I couldn’t believe how good it worked. It’s definitely become of my favourite household tips that I tell everyone about.

Who knew making your own DIY poo-pourri to hide all stinky smells from the bathroom – without using artificial fragrances, toxic chemicals or harsh chemicals – would be so easy to make! Say goodbye to embarrassing moments with this homemade poo pourri spray. All you need is some natural ingredients, a plastic bottle, and water (distilled water works best but tap water is fine too!)

Ingredients Needed for Poo Spray

  • witch hazel
  • essential oils
  • water

Directions to Make Potty Spray per bottle

I used a really small bottle because I made a bunch to give out as gifts and stocking stuffers. This green small glass spray bottle is perfect for holiday gifts, especially if you add a little red ribbon or Christmas sticker. So, this recipe fits perfectly in a 1.5 oz bottle. Double or triple it for anything bigger.

  1. Place 15 drops of witch hazel into your glass bottle
  2. Then, add 15 drops of Purification essential oil (or your favorite essential oil blend)
  3. Fill the rest with water
  4. Put the lid on and shake it up

Easy, right?
