I love all things snickerdoodle and that includes this super easy and yummy Snickerdoodle Popcorn snack! Who doesn’t agree that sugar + cinnamon = yummy goodness?

So when I decided to let the boys stay up late for a movie night/slumber party, I thought we â„¢d make some special snacks. So what better movie fare than snickerdoodles + popcorn?
Snickerdoodle Popcorn
Ingredients
- 2-3 cups Cinnamon Chex Cereal
- 2-3 cups Chocolate Chex Cereal
- Half a stick of butter (1/4 cup)
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Granulated (white) sugar
- 4 cups (or more) of popped popcorn (one bag is usually enough)
Directions
Start by putting the popcorn in the microwave and get it popping.
Once it’s done, set the bag aside and let it cool just a bit. While it is cooling you can mix the sugar and the cinnamon in a bowl; set aside.
Next, in a large, microwavable bowl, mix the cereals and the popcorn.
I added an extra cup of the Cinnamon Chex Cereal because I love cinnamon-flavored foods! If you love chocolate more, then add extra to your taste!
In a separate microwavable bowl, melt the butter. Pour the butter over the cereal & popcorn mixture to coat evenly.
Microwave uncovered on High 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture evenly over cereal mixture; stir. Sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture; stir. Microwave about a minute longer. Then, you can either serve it as is, or spread it on waxed paper to cool.
Then, just add a good movie, a warm blanket and enjoy!
