Potluck is back: new and improved.
Well, not necessarily new or improved, but here.
Which is new.
And improved.
If you haven’t a clue what a June Cleaver Nirvana potluck serves up, don’t worry. Â No one knows.
It’s random nature is it’s charm.
I am super excited to be guest posting today over at Tiffany’s place, Simply Modern Mom.
She is on blogging maternity leave preparing to have her third child.
I am a huge fan of Tiffany’s {and a huge fan of third kids} which is why it is such an honor.
Please stop by and say hi.
This summer I joined Rachel over at Quirky Momma. Â If you haven’t been over to Quirky Momma, you have to go.
It is precious.
It is entirely about fun things to do with kids.
A week or so ago, the boys and I showed how to make a tent from pvc pipe and sheets…such a fun project.
OK, so this new and improved potluck is sportin’ a new and improved feature…
Holly vlogs!
Here is where Holly tells a story in 10 minutes that would take most people 3.
Now you REALLY want to watch it, eh?
What is in Holly’s fruit bowl?
One withered cucumber, 6 red potatoes, a bunch of faux bananas, and 4 Lego pieces that used to be on the floor.
Yum.
Have a Happy Monday!
May all your projects be quick and beautiful today…
Welcome to Kids Activities!
My name is Holly Homer & I am the Dallas mom of three boys…
I loved the video & it’s SO TRUE. I read a quote the other day saying that comparing yourself to others on their blogs is taking their best work & comparing it to your every day work. I felt better after our chat at the park 🙂
Yay potluck!! I’ve missed it.
No peep of the week? So I nominate me.
You are TOTALLY and now OFFICIALLY Peep of the Week!
Thanks for posting this! I feel like I’m the only one that takes FOREVER to do something that should be so quick. See, if this had been me….I would have had 20 holes in the wall, a broken frame, no other Target in the area selling them anymore, and a toddler potty accident to clean up while doing all of this. And I still wouldn’t have any pictures on the wall to show for it. This is just the season of my life right now.
It’s funny how people compare themselves to others even though we know we shouldn’t. I’m amazed to hear that Heather would think she is not doing enough! She is super mom in my book and I dare say she is my inspiration to homeschool my kids. But as hard as I try, my homeschool day is not as organized as hers and I’m sure it isn’t as efficient. It probably never will be. I can strive but again, we are in a different season of life and God has His own specific plans for our family. We just have to go with the flow right now and make things work best for our family and our situation. Even knowing that, we are still human and still prone to check out what our neighbor is doing. I struggle with this daily!
Thanks so much for this post. I can’t wait to see how your finished project looks!
I think you stole this from me.
I have legos in my fruit bowl too. I am heading over to read.
I always try to remember that there is a back story to every blog post out there. If you don’t keep that in mind, then yes, you will feel like “less” compared to everyone else’s apparent perfection. Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to see the wall!
This is great! Mainly because that is so like me to take ten days to do something and put everything else on hold. But I love that I can post it and it looks so put together and I can totally manage everything else 🙂
Yay! Potluck is back! We have the top of the pvc tent made & it turns out the pipes we had on hand made wide enough to fit over the back of Daddy’s truck (not nearly long enough to cover the whole thing but that is ok). So they spend the weekend playing in their truck tent.
