Summer Activities for Kids in Collin County

Burbmom.net has been scouring the Dallas-Fort-Worth Metroplex to find summer activities for children.   Luckily there are TONS of options for summer family fun in DFW.   Here is what we have found for the areas in and around Collin County.   The list is long, but I am sure I missed some of the great things that Collin County has to offer.   If you know of anything I missed, please add it to the comments below or email me the information at holly@burbmom.net and I will continue to update!

  1. I live in N Plano. My grandchildren are visiting me mid July. 2yr 9mo and 5yr old (5 in Aug_). I am looking for things that will engage them and provide lots of fun. I found a few things listed above like Bounce U and Boom Rang, but the summer camps have long commitment weeks. I also found a pony riding place that may be good. any suggestions for Plano, Allen or even McKinney would be fine.

  3. I am nannying this summer for two children. The oldest, a boy, going into fourth grade, and the youngest, a girl, who is three going on four. I keep them Monday-Thursday! I needed some ideas of activities locally to have a fun summer! I want them both to have a good time! Thanks!

  4. I was searching for activities for my teen daughter, and realized that maybe I should inform your readers about the summer academy at Optimum Growth in Wylie, Tx. We will be mixing summer learning/ the fun of theater arts. Our focus group is ages 6.5-11 years of age.

    Irish Dance Camp
    Ages 7+
    July 19-21, 10-11:15AM (FRISCO)
    July 26-28, 10-11:15AM (PLANO)

    These short camps are designed to expose children to the fun and energy of Irish dancing, with continuation in the fall at both locations.

    The instructor is Internationally Certified with the Irish Dance Commission in Dublin, Ireland.

    The cost is only $60 per student, and we give family and referral discounts, so bring a friend! (Bring 3 and dance for free!)
