Do the natural colors of springtime flower blossoms and new green leaves bring out the artistic side in you? The 2nd annual Arlington Art on the Greene Art Festival brings 75 art vendors, live entertainment and local restaurants to Richard Greene Linear Park, located between The Ballpark in Arlington and Cowboys Stadium. As the park is the home of the Caelum Moor Sculptures, it’s a natural choice for this venue. The festival runs for three days, March 22, 23 and 24th. The event is FREE with a $5 parking fee, good for all 3 days.
My Mommy Tip: While children are welcome, there is not a designated children’s area at the festival.
The Lone Star Race
Named one of the premier races in DFW, the 2nd annual Lone Star Race is held in conjunction with the Art on the Greene Festival. A 10K, 5K and 1K Walk/Stroller/Fun Run begins on the morning of March 23rd, on the 3rd base concourse at The Ballpark in Arlington. Contestants can dress up in their favorite Texas duds, or even as a favorite Lone Star hero for the costume contest! For more information, pricing or to register, click here.
The Big Shot at Cowboy Stadium
Want to be a part of history? On Saturday, March 23rd, the Rochester Institute of Technology and Art on the Greene Festival have joined together to create a “painting with light” at Cowboy Stadium. Join thousands of volunteers and “illuminate Cowboys Stadium with nothing more than flashlights, while a series of photographs are taken to create the “Big Shot!” Participants must wear all black and bring either a flashlight or strobe light. Previous events have included The Alamo, The Royal Palace in Stockholm and the U.S.S. Intrepid in New York. Click Here for information on how to register for this FREE event!
