What is the quintessential way to meet Santa? Why on the North Pole Express of course! Ever since that wonderful movie came out a few years ago (you know, the one about the all-night train adventure….), kids of all ages have been dying to recreate the experience on a real, old-fashioned steam train. Trains all across the country put together Christmas events, and lucky for us, we have one right down the road.
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad is ready to take you & your family on the North Pole Express this year. Running each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in December, the North Pole Express is another one of those “can’t-miss” Christmas events. Our family has had the privilege of traveling the North Pole Express three times and had a ball each and every time! I highly recommend it for anyone with young kiddos, for it truly is a memorable experience.
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad dresses up it’s steam engine holiday style and takes families on a one-hour adventure 3-6 times an afternoon/evening. The event begins with pre-boarding holiday fun, with crafting and caroling. Wind your way through the maze of Christmas Trees to climb aboard the train. Seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis, but they fully recommend purchasing them in advance online.
Everything is very official on the North Pole Express, down to the conductor punching your tickets. Truth be told, it’s my favorite part – makes the ride so very “real”. And as the conductor calls “All-Aboard“, we are whisked away to a mysterious place called the North Pole.
Stories are told, joyful Christmas Songs are played and Santa’s elves even jingle their bells, adding to the merriment of the ride. And before you know it, Jolly Old Saint Nick has arrived in your car……
