Blue Bell Creameries and 94.9 KLTY Radio are teaming up once again to help those less fortunate stay cool this sizzling summer in more ways than one.
Stop by the Blue Bell Creamery in Lewisville this Wednesday. Everyone who brings a box fan or non-perishable food will receive a free, ice cold treat of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Donors can also take a tour of the Blue Bell cold storage distribution center, including a brief stop in the giant freezer that is 20 degrees below zero, even when it's 107 degrees outside.

The fan and food drive event will take place on Wednesday, August 15th (that’s THIS week!) from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. My family loves this yearly event. The last time we went it really was 107 degrees outside. We were very hot but the giant freezer was really cold.
How cold? Take a look at the picture below. That isn’t fog in the freezer. That’s my son’s body heat escaping in the freezing temps.
But we were fine with a little frostbite because we were surrounded by thousands of tubs of delicious Blue Bell ice cream!
And I forgot my spoon!!
We each brought a bag of non-perishable foods with us so after the tour we got to pick out own special Blue Bell treat. Yum!
The Fan & Food Drive will benefit
Christian Community Action (CCA) of Lewisville who will distribute the fans and food to families throughout their service area. For more than 36 years, CCA has been feeding, sheltering, educating and training families in need within 42 communities throughout Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Wise counties.
