Here’s a message from the Vitruvian Nites staff:
In light of the on-going Excessive Heat Advisory issued by the National Weather Service for tonight, the Town of Addison has made the decision to postpone tonight's (Thursday, August 2) Movie Nites at Vitruvian Park in Addison. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause, but out of an abundance of caution for attendees, we have made this decision.
If you enjoy watching a movie under the stars, you will love Movie Nites at Vitruvian. It’s like going back in time when drive-in movie theaters were all the rage. This time, you don’t sit in your car but on a nice soft blanket.
Every Thursday night in August, you can enjoy a night out with the family. Movies make a great family night out or date night or even a night out with the girls. Bring a blanket, a picnic snack and summer beverage or even a bag of popcorn for your night out at the movies. But get there early to claim the best spot for viewing.
If you don’t bring your own snack, several of the gourmet food trucks will be on hand from 6pm to 9pm.
This week (Thursday)you can see the latest movie in the Sherlock Holmes series. It’s called “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. I saw the first one in this series and can’t wait to see this one.

Game Nites
First Fridays: August 3, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Get your game on! We ™ll provide free snacks and your favorite board, card and lawn games to choose from (Classic Board, Car, and Lawn Games: Trivial Pursuit, Yahtzee, Apples to Apples, Pictionary, Uno, Farkle, Go Fish, Hearts, and more! ). Meet us under the big oak tree at the Overlook near Ponte Bridge bring a picnic supper if you ™d like.
Fright Nites
Third Fridays: August 17, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Fright Nites: Chilling Tales and Ghost Stories will leave you shivering in your boots, scooting closer to loved ones, and reaching for the s ™mores. Be treated to REAL scary storytelling by master storytellers as you dine under the stars. Several food trucks will be
on hand to dish out comfort food and delicious desserts that will soothe even the faintest
of hearts.
Rhythm Nites
Second and Fourth Wednesdays: August 8 & August 22, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Get swept away by the cool sounds of hot music under the stars for Vitruvian fs Rhythm Nites. Local musicians will perform live and acts will range from Latin acoustic guitar, Cuban, Cool Jazz, Kickin f Country and more. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs or blankets, and
kickback to enjoy this cool Vitruvian Nites event!
