If you have been a June Cleaver Nirvana reader for awhile, you have come to expect Reid(5) to appear randomly as a blue power ranger. Let’s take a look back in Nirvana history…

3/11/08 Marked a brief departure from regular attire for this post entitled, “because the chicken suit was at the cleaners”:

In “my list of things that might be OK at 2-4 years old, but definitely NOT even remotely OK at 24 years old:

#14. Wearing a blue power ranger suit 24/7.”

6/11/08 Reid’s birthday post:
“Your head is often in another world. A world where blue power rangers shop at Target and transformers pause to laugh at Gilligan’s Island DVDs.”

Reid has always had a dramatic flair in clothing choices. I didn’t squash the public appearance of the blue power ranger. I figured it was cute, a phase and people would embrace a little boy in blue.

Reid’s blue period lasted about 6 months. He still dresses up occasionally at home. His wardrobe has expanded. He is even mixing and matching outfits.

He is really excited about his next Halloween costume which we recently ordered and should arrive any day.

I have come to expect the unexpected.

So when Rhett(2) begs to dress up I am not surprised.

He didn’t choose to be a power ranger.

A transformer.

A space man.

As usual he dances to a different tune…

The chicken dance.

  1. The chick costume reminds me of the elephant costume my mom made me wear every halloween. it covered my face and my mouth so when i went to the door not only did people pull my trunk they cut off my air flow. If my bag were bigger they probably would have stuffed me in it.
And all for a couple of candy bars…

  2. Why is that song from “Jimmy Neutron” coming into my head…. The one where the parents are abducted and turned into Zombie sacraficial offerings for the Chicken monster. Too cute and so fun that you shared that with us.
