One of our favorite summer hangouts in Dallas-Fort Worth,
Hawaiian Falls, is opening this weekend – yay!
The official opening day is May 26.
Today, thanks to the sweet folks at Hawaiian Falls, they let me and 5 children into the Garland waterpark for a sneak peek at the newest additions. Â Yes, beware when you invite me anywhere in the summer time…
I come with a SUV load of children.
The Rush is a brand new water slide this year. Â In fact, it is unlike anything that I have ever rode before. Â It doesn’t look much different from the outside.

But before you get into the starting position with your tube, you choose a song from a large list on a computer screen next to the slide.
When your music starts, so does your ride and it is accompanied by a light show.
It turned out to be my favorite slide. Â My 6 year old agreed and made me ride it
over and over and over.
The other new addition in the Garland Hawaiian Falls is an upgrade of one of their pools. Â It now has two small slides, some large umbrella fountains and two “precarious” crossings.

We also spent a portion of the day relaxing on the lazy river.

I have always laughed and said that Hawaiian Falls has the least lazy rivers I have ever seen. Â In fact, the one in Garland has waves! Â It is like a wave pool and a lazy river all in one. Â It is the perfect combination for a summer afternoon floating adventure.
We heard rumors that there are new additions to our closest Hawaiian Falls in Roanoke. Â Last year it was nearly our second home for the summer.
We can’t wait to check those out!
I wonder what the song choice is for The Rush
